The chat runs in the device's web view, so a device with a web view that is too old, or an app set up in a way that blocks the chat, cannot show it. The SDK then shows a notice instead of the chat and nothing crashes. Check support yourself to hide your way into the chat on such devices

## Check support

::::Tabs
:::Tab{title="iOS"}
```swift
chatButton.isHidden = !KindlyWebViewSDK.isSupported
```

`isSupported` is `false` when your app declares `WKAppBoundDomains` without `chat.kindlycdn.com`, see [Installation](docId\:sonmjcrRZMUEA1QI1eg5q), or when the current chat page reported, while it loaded, that the web view lacks a feature the chat needs
:::

:::Tab{title="Android"}
```kotlin
chatButton.visibility = if (KindlyWebViewSDK.isSupported(context)) View.VISIBLE else View.GONE
```

`isSupported(context)` is `false` when the device has no WebView, its WebView is older than version 85 or lacks the web message listener feature the SDK talks through, or the current chat page reported, while it loaded, that the WebView lacks a feature the chat needs
:::

:::Tab{title="Flutter"}
```dart
final bool supported = await KindlyWebViewSDK.isSupported();
```

The answer is the native SDK's, see the iOS and Android tabs. On a platform other than iOS and Android, every call fails with `unsupported`, this one included
:::

:::Tab{title="React Native"}
```typescript
const supported = await KindlyWebViewSDK.isSupported();
```

The answer is the native SDK's, see the iOS and Android tabs
:::
::::

The chat page's own report applies to that page only. The next page checks again: after `endChat`, after `kill`, or after a `start` with another bot key or market

## What people see

When the chat cannot run, showing it opens a notice with a close button instead of the chat, and `connectionState` turns `unsupported`, see [Events](docId\:e5k7rv4jg1Xml35TaMd_t). On Android the notice also has a button that opens the device's WebView in Google Play, so the user can update it
